Directions

Take the hiking bus towards Oberlech directly from the hike starting point at the post office. Get off at the last stop ”Schlössle”. Follow the road going uphill. Soon a paved back road branches of to the right. Follow the road until you get to the (1) view point ”Tannegg” incl. barbecue site. From here, a good path on your right takes you downhill to the far side of the Tobel River. Now youtake the wooden bridge to the other side and then ascend steadily to the (2) Gaisbühelalpe. Across colourful mountain pastures with extensive (3) chive fields, you ascend leisurely to the Auenfeld saddle. Here, turn left onto the wide alpine path and walk to the (4) Untere Auenfeldalpe. Continue along the alpine path to your left, following the stream through the Auenfeld out of the valley until you see a small path branching off to your right leading towards Körbersee Lake. Follow this path uphill and soon you will enjoy the beautiful view of the (5) Körbersee Lake. The path now follows the slope of the hill down to the shore of the lake. Continue along the shore until you reach (6) Hotel Körbersee. Keep going, following a distinctly wider alpine path until you reach the (7) Kalbelesee Lake. Now you are just a few metres, following the main road keeping right, from the bus stop. The hiking bus will take you back to the starting point.Route A: Instead of following the narrow path towards Körbersee Lake, stay on the wide alpine path that leads you directly to the (8) ”Alpine museum on the Tannberg” and to the Batzenalpe. After visiting the museum and, if you like, taking some refreshments at the Batzenalpe, follow the alpine path uphill keeping right. The path will lead you directly to the Hotel Körbersee. From here, continue to the final point of this hike along the route described above.
